Biostatistician


DNAR is a biotechnology company creating innovative cancer diagnostics to meet the need for better informing patients and their doctors about treatment choices in their cancer care. DNAR is located in Boston, Massachusetts.

As a growing personalized medicine company, DNAR is seeking to hire a full-time Biostatistician. The right candidate will be responsible for evaluating clinical outcome and response datasets, and will be engaged in the statistical development of biomarker pattern algorithms. The position requires previous expertise in the practical applications of biostatistics. Previous experiences in oncology programs are highly desirable. The position requires outstanding analytic skills, effective communication capabilities, and proven excellence in a collaborative environment.

Education/Experience:

B.S./M.S. degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Bioinformatics with a concentration in statistical methods.

Experience in biostatistics related to biomedical applications, clinical trials, and bioinformatics processing is preferred, but not required. Experience with statistical source codes (SAS, R, and/or S-plus) is necessary, as are tools for discriminating patient populations and treatment outcome, response and methods for missing values, hypothesis testing, cross-validation, and correction for multiple comparisons.

Histologist

As a growing personalized medicine company, DNAR is seeking to hire a full-time Histotechnologist in our Product Development Department.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with IHC assays and will be responsible for the accessioning of specimens, processing of tissue samples and performing histochemical staining, identifying sectioning and staining characteristics, imaging of the processed slides, analyzing controls and optimizing IHC assay protocol for optimal assay performance.  In addition, the candidate will manage the specimen inventory and the specimen database.  The candidate should monitor work to ensure utmost quality and adherence to GLP standards. The candidate should possess excellent laboratory and data analysis skills, as well as organization, computer software and documentation skills, attention to details, ability to multi-task, excellent time management, and a strong work ethic. Prior experience with assay development in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment is desirable.

 

Education/Experience/Requirements:

Bachelor of Science or related degree with HT or HTL certification to perform routine tasks of histology, special staining, immunohistochemistry and imaging of slides. A minimum of three years prior experience in a Histology technical position. This position will require strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently in a team environment.  Prior work experience in pharmaceutical or diagnostic industry desirable.

IHC Development –Senior Scientist

As a growing personalized medicine company, DNAR is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Scientist with extensive experience in IHC, specifically in the selection and development of antibodies and related markers for biological assays. 

The successful candidate should also have broad experience in IHC assay optimization.  The position will play a key role in the development and commercialization of DNAR’s laboratory diagnostics assays. The successful candidate will initiate, direct and execute scientific research and development that is critical to company’s strategies. He/she will investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts towards the validation of cancer markers, development of Immunohistochemistry diagnostic products and evaluation of different technology platforms, and will maintain broad knowledge of state-of-art principles and theory.   

 

 

Education/Experience/Requirements:

 An advanced degree in Biological Science with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in IHC, pathology, molecular and/or immunology assays.  Expertise in leading projects from concept through development to completion in a timely manner.  The candidate should exhibit a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness.  He/she

will monitor experimental results/records to ensure utmost quality and adherence to GLP standards, possess excellent analytical, problem solving, data analysis, organization, and computer software skills, attention to detail, excellent time management, and a strong work ethic. Pathologist

DNAR, Inc. is a biotechnology company creating innovative cancer diagnostics for personalized medicine. DNAR has an immediate opening for a Pathologist. This position requires an MD or PhD in Pathology with AP/CP board certification or equivalent and 1-3 years experience. Pathologists at DNAR are applying their expertise towards interpreting biomarker patterns for human cancers. In this position, you will participate as a Lead Pathologist in pathology team efforts involved in discovering biomarker patterns, conduct analysis of human tumor samples in retrospective clinical studies, and guide biomarker characterization and algorithm development with the scientific staff. You will provide input regarding pathological data and study design, prepare documents for internal and external scientific/clinical relevance, and co-author DNAR discoveries as part of our internal efforts and collaborations.

Industry experience with anatomic pathology or histopathology is highly desirable, and practical experience with oncology is a must. The ideal candidate will also be an outstanding communicator, highly skilled at organization, energetic, and have very strong computer application skills as applies to pathological scoring, image analysis, and annotation.

The position has flexibility with regard to work schedule, and a portion of the work can be done remotely by internet access. There is a limited amount of travel associated with the position. DNAR is located in Boston, Massachusetts and offers competitive compensation and benefits programs.
